The Ontario Bid Depository Council recently completed its review and subsequent formation of the Construction Bid Depository of Ontario.  This group has taken on the responsibility of Promoting the use of the Bid Depository province wide.  We have assisted in funding this new Depository System.

Two administrators for the CBDO have been hired, and providing there are no conflicts, are available to administer closings in their respective areas of the province. The CBDO has just completed the writing of the "tenth edition" rules, and implementation will take place in the spring of 2005.  These rules are the result of input meetings held with the various Bid Depositories throughout Ontario that of which included the Hamilton Bid Depository.

We remain hopeful that the improvements made to the rules and the added promotion and exposure will help bring back the use of Bid Depository and we continue to work towards this goal. 

As in the past, we ask for your help in identifying any particular projects that would benefit by being closed through the Hamilton Bid Depository, the committee would then attempt to convince the owners and tender calling authorities to use the Bid.
